      1 x Pot of Duality

Have all cards for LS/Sabers/BW/GB/Monarchs/Quickdraw/Gadgets and a truckload of Synchro's and other useful/random stuff.

0-X on sat is the way it is tbh.

Hey bro, chin up! You're playing someone who has Top8'd Worlds twice, you're not losing to some scrub( now that would be cause for worry)...it's a steep and perhaps harsh learning curve but you have the added advantage of playing world-class opposition prior to the big event and getting some real insight into what you can expect and what strats you can use...use Chris' help to your full advantage champ!

Also out of curioisty is the game shop called Chalon Stamps?

The primary business for Pete's shop is as a stamp store but he sells cards as well and his shop is the main venue for all regular organised play in Chch for YGO.

I picked this up not long ago and have enjoyed the content I've played through so far. It didn't reinvent the wheel so to speak but it does what it should do well and is good fun all round.

      /agree

Having been formerly resident in Chch during my stint as YGO moderator here, I know first hand that Pete has done a lot for supporting regular organised play over in Chch a long period of time through the regular tournaments in his shop and being open for casual play outside of this. I hope Marcus catches the loser first and gives him a swift kick in the slats (and more) from all of us.

Based off that performance, I'm not keen for him to gun for a shot at one of the top heavyweights anytime soon, he'd be a big punching bag. I hope he can get in better condition so he can stay busy and get his punch output/combinations going over the course of not just individual rounds but over the course of the whole fight.

I just had a nosey at the top32 decks for US nats....quick count gave me 17 of Top32 playing x-sabers :s saw some other interesting decks tho...like Dimensional Eatos

edit: top4 was 3 saber 1 gb, final was saber mirror match

I agree with Chris and Hyun-Woo, Sabers are Tier 0 this format.

Sabers seem to have excellent consistency and solid matchups vs many decks in comparison to other decks (though not so much so against Infernity from what I can tell).

It's inevitably going to be harder to see what they can really do if the meta you're in doesn't have/has very few fully built saber decks. I'd hazard a guess that it's probably easier to deal with one person playing near-complete complete sabers in a 16-20 person HL as opposed to if there were 5 people playing complete sabers and you had to go through 3 of them for instance.

In a sense, reprint doesn't help out competitive in players, just laughs at the collector and casual players. They might make short term profit like this, but it's going to a lot of players off the game.

I see where you're coming from here, I guess sometimes by the time the reprints arrive, their playability is not maximised if they are about to get affected by the banlist (not completely up to speed on everything seeing as I've been out for quite a while). Those who are serious about the competitive side of things will get the cards pretty quick in any case and not wait for reprints.

I'm like you, don't really care what happens, I'll just deal with it.

Cory, are you planning to play again? Cus that will be cool. Sorry I didn't see you at all last nats. I didn't know you were there.

All good man, I'm sure you'll see me pop up next time I'm down or you're up, are you still between Dunedin/Chch?

To answer your question, yes I'm going to play again seeing as I decided that I need a hobby that doesn't involve drinking haha. Currently getting hold of cards so I can get back into it which shouldnt be too far away hopefully but don't have a complete deck yet.
